Dr. Srinivas Kasha — Senior Consultant & Head of Orthopaedic Trauma in Hyderabad

Dr. Srinivas Kasha is Senior Consultant and Head of Orthopaedic Trauma at KIMS Hospitals, Secunderabad, in Hyderabad, with more than 32 years of experience in orthopedics.

His list carries both halves of that title. Trauma covers fracture fixation, non-union repair, tendon repair and Achilles repair for tendon rupture. Arthroplasty covers total knee and total hip replacement, partial and robotic knee replacement, hip resurfacing and revision knee and hip replacement. His arthroscopic work covers ACL reconstruction for ACL tear, PCL reconstruction for PCL tear and joint injection.

His training was taken in India and in the United States. He read MBBS at Kakatiya Medical College in Warangal after his intermediate at Gnanadeep Junior College in Kamareddy, took his MS in orthopaedics at Osmania Medical College in Hyderabad, then a fellowship in arthroplasty at the Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences in Secunderabad and an AO Trauma fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.

His record is as much about teaching as about operating. He is national faculty and one of the initiators of the Association of Pelvi Acetabular Surgeons in India, has trained 6 trauma fellows and 8 joint replacement fellows, and has guided 6 DNB thesis students. He has performed more than 10,000 orthopaedic surgeries.

He has published 5 peer-reviewed papers in national and international journals including JOASIS, JMSR and the International Journal of Orthopaedic Sciences, and has authored chapters in OSSAP monographs on open fracture management and geriatric orthopaedics. Both chapter subjects sit inside the trauma service he heads. Alongside KIMS he has been associated with ESI Medical College.
