Dr. K. Krishnaiah — Senior Consultant in Hyderabad

Dr. K. Krishnaiah is a Senior Consultant orthopaedic surgeon at KIMS Hospitals, Secunderabad, Hyderabad, with more than 40 years of experience.

His list is one of the widest in the specialty on this platform. Arthroplasty covers total knee and total hip replacement, partial knee replacement, hip resurfacing, ankle replacement, and revision knee and hip replacement. Reconstructive work covers ACL and PCL reconstruction, meniscus repair, rotator cuff repair, Achilles repair and tendon repair. He also manages advanced hip and knee osteoarthritis, limb length discrepancy and limb lengthening surgery, and performs fracture fixation and non-union repair.

His qualifications were taken in India and the UK. He read M.B.B.S. at S.V. Medical College in Tirupathi in May 1982, was elected F.R.C.S. by the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in October 1989, and took his M.Ch in orthopaedics at the University of Liverpool in December 1992 alongside a fellowship at Broadgreen Hospital and Liverpool University that year. He later added two legal qualifications: an LLb at Osmania University in 2003 and a postgraduate diploma in law at NALSAR University in 2005.

His posts have included Medway Maritime Hospital in Kent and Broadgreen Hospital in Liverpool, and in India Medwin Hospital, Mediciti Hospital and the Mediciti Institute of Medical Sciences, and M.J. Naidu Hospital in Vijayawada.

He teaches on AO basic and advanced courses across India, convened the Basic Arthroplasty Course of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in Hyderabad in 2003, and tutored its MRCS, MS and DNB courses in 2004.
