Dr. B. Sai Phani Chandra is a Senior Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at KIMS Hospitals, Secunderabad, Hyderabad, with more than 31 years of experience.

His list spans arthroplasty, arthroscopy and trauma. He performs total knee and total hip replacement, partial knee replacement, robotic knee replacement, hip resurfacing, and revision knee and revision hip replacement. His arthroscopic work covers ACL and PCL reconstruction, meniscus repair and rotator cuff repair, and his trauma work covers fracture fixation, non-union repair and tendon repair.

His training began in India and was later extended abroad in four separate placements. He read MBBS at Kakatiya Medical College in Warangal, then took his DNB in orthopaedics and sports medicine at Kamineni Hospitals in Hyderabad along with fellowships there in joint replacement and knee arthroscopy, and a further joint replacement fellowship at SRM Hospitals in Chennai. His overseas training was cadaveric revision arthroplasty at Chulalongkorn University in Thailand, an observership in advanced shoulder and knee arthroscopy at the Asan Medical Center in South Korea, and a scrubbed observership in advanced shoulder arthroscopy at Clinica Ars Medica and Mendrisio Regional Hospital in Switzerland. He also has advanced training in unicondylar Oxford knee replacement at Ganga Hospital.

He won a gold medal for a paper on the role of zoledronic acid in musculoskeletal diseases, and has been co-investigator in two multicentric studies on knee osteoarthritis. His publications cover arthroscopic ACL reconstruction techniques, the ZIMMERSPLINT technique for intra-articular phalangeal fractures, and single bundle against double bundle ACL reconstruction.
