Dr. Santosh Enaganti — Senior Consultant in Hyderabad

Dr. Santosh Enaganti is a Senior Consultant at Yashoda Hospitals, Hi-Tech City, Hyderabad, with more than 27 years of experience in gastroenterology.

His practice covers the gut, the liver and the pancreas. He performs ERCP and manages inflammatory bowel disease, including Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, together with chronic liver disease, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, chronic pancreatitis, biliary strictures, celiac disease, severe gastroesophageal reflux disease and recurrent GI bleeding.

He read MBBS at Karnatak University in Dharwad and took his MD in internal medicine at the Manipal Academy of Higher Education. The rest of his training was in the UK. He holds the MRCP from the Royal College of Physicians of London and the FRCP of London, and completed his CCT in gastroenterology and general medicine with PMETB through the Yorkshire Deanery. He was a transplant hepatology fellow at SJUH in Leeds and an advanced endoscopy fellow at LGI in Leeds, with further integrated clinical research training at Leicester and integrated training in nutrition at Bedford.

His student record is a run of academic prizes: college topper in BSc at Osmania University, college topper in MBBS at Karnatak University, first prize in the departments of anatomy and surgery at BLDE Association's Medical College, and gold medallist in final year MBBS at the same college.

Teaching has stayed part of his work on both sides of the move home. He received a Best Post Graduate Teacher Award at DPOW in Grimsby, is an MRCP overseas examiner for the Royal College of Physicians in London, and is faculty at Osler's Academy, an MRCP training unit in Hyderabad. He belongs to SGEI, ISG and the British Society of Gastroenterology, and has multiple peer-reviewed publications and presentations at BSG, UEGW and EASL. He was formerly at Continental Hospital in Hyderabad and in NHS hospitals.
