Dr. Meet Kumar — Director & HOD of Hemato-Oncology & Bone Marrow Transplant in Delhi NCR

Dr. Meet Kumar is Director and Head of Hemato-Oncology and Bone Marrow Transplant at Marengo Asia Hospitals in Faridabad, Delhi NCR, with more than 18 years of experience.

Transplant work defines the practice. His procedure list names bone marrow transplant, autologous stem cell transplant and haploidentical bone marrow transplant, the last of these being the option for patients without a matched donor. The conditions treated are acute and chronic leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma, myelodysplastic syndromes and chronic thrombocytopenia.

His qualifications are MBBS, MD and DM in clinical hematology, followed by a fellowship in bone marrow transplant at Tata Medical Centre in Kolkata and an observership in CART cell therapy at King's College in London. That second placement matters, because CAR-T is the newer alternative to transplant in some blood cancers and his record covers both.

His career has passed through Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in Delhi, SGPGI in Lucknow, BLK Hospital in Delhi, King's College in London and Fortis Memorial Research Institute in Gurugram before his current post in Faridabad.

He is a member of the Indian Society of Hematology and Blood Transfusion, where he also sits on the executive, and of the American Society of Hematology, the Bengal Society of Hematology and the Delhi Society of Hematology. His awards include the Hisar Gaurav Award and a Global Award for Emerging Hematologist. He has more than 20 research publications in national and international journals, and takes part in conferences as a panelist, moderator and chairperson.
