Dr. Mayank Bansal — Consultant in Delhi NCR

Dr. Mayank Bansal is a Consultant in ophthalmology at Fortis Memorial Research Institute in Delhi NCR, with more than 15 years of experience. His qualifications are MD, FICO, FAICO, FRCS, MRCSEd and an ICO certification.

His surgical range covers both ends of the eye. Retinal detachment surgery, vitrectomy, macular hole surgery, epiretinal membrane surgery and diabetic retinopathy treatment sit at the back; cataract surgery in four listed forms, including complex cases, phacoemulsification and premium intraocular lenses, sits at the front. Glaucoma management and surgery, pediatric cataract surgery and congenital eye disorder treatment complete the list.

His training is heavily weighted towards the retina. He took his MD in ophthalmology at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi, then a Fellowship of the International Council of Ophthalmology in vitreo-retinal surgery at the University of California, Los Angeles in the USA. His FAICO from the All India Collegium of Ophthalmology was also awarded in vitreo-retinal surgery, so the same subspecialty has been certified on two continents. He holds FRCS from the Royal College of Surgeons in Glasgow, MRCSEd from the Royal College in Edinburgh, and an ICO certification from London taken in 2013. He is affiliated with Fortis Hospital in Gurgaon.

At AIIMS he was conferred the Prem Prakash Trophy with first rank in senior residency. He presents at the American Academy of Ophthalmology and at the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, and has multiple publications in international and national journals along with book chapters.
