Dr. Aashish Amar — Senior Consultant in Delhi NCR

Dr. Aashish Amar is a Senior Consultant at Marengo Asia Hospitals in Faridabad, Delhi NCR, with more than 21 years of experience in ophthalmology. His qualifications are MBBS, MS, DNB and FRCS.

His procedure list is one of the broadest an eye surgeon can carry, and it crosses every part of the eye. At the front there is cataract surgery including phacoemulsification and paediatric cases, corneal transplantation and keratoconus treatment. Glaucoma surgery and laser glaucoma procedures address the pressure inside the eye. At the back there is vitrectomy, retinal detachment surgery and diabetic retinopathy. Squint surgery and congenital eye disorder treatment cover children, and eyelid reconstruction and oculoplastic surgery cover the structures around the eye.

He read MBBS with distinction at Kasturba Medical College in Manipal between 1996 and 2001, then took MS in ophthalmology at Madras Medical College in Chennai between 2003 and 2006, finishing as university topper and gold medalist. His DNB followed in 2010 and his FRCS in ophthalmology came from Glasgow in the UK. He also holds an observership in pediatric ophthalmology from Sankara Nethralaya in Chennai.

His career has moved steadily upward through Delhi and Faridabad. He began as a junior consultant at Aster Eye Care, Perfect Vision Eye Centre, Shanti Hospital and Asian Hospital, after senior residency at Guru Nanak Eye Centre at MAMC in Delhi. He has since been a senior consultant at Apollo Hospital in Delhi, at Max Hospital in Saket and at ASG Eye Hospital, medical director of Eye 5 Centres, and a visiting consultant at Metro Hospital and Asian Hospital in Faridabad.
