City context

Why patients consider Delhi NCR for Neurosurgery

Delhi NCR has Radiation Oncology listings in the wider GAF directory, but this article does not infer that every listed institution delivers SRS. Only dynamically resolved procedure relationships should produce clinician or hospital cards, and a card is not a ranking, machine inventory or outcome claim.

Delhi NCR has Radiation Oncology listings in the wider GAF directory, but this article does not infer that every listed institution delivers CyberKnife. Only dynamically resolved procedure relationships should produce clinician or hospital cards, and a card is not a ranking, machine inventory or outcome claim.

Clinician and hospital cards for Delhi NCR appear only when live directory relationships currently tag Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS). An empty section is a catalog fact, not a hidden ranking. Neighbouring technique tags must not be reused, and placement is not a volume, machine-model or outcome claim.

Confirm the actual bunker campus, machine class if named, fraction calendar, image guidance, and the first post-treatment review in writing. A general oncology or accreditation label does not answer those case-specific questions.

Send pathology, imaging and prior radiation records before booking travel to Delhi NCR.

Arrive with enough time for radiation oncology, physics and simulation review; Allow a rest and film-review day after a long-haul arrival. Same-morning simulation after an overnight flight leaves little room for repeat CT, contour review or anaesthetic assessment for brachytherapy.

Indira Gandhi International Airport: Delhi, Gurugram, Noida and Faridabad are separate daily-commute geographies. A four-to-seven-week IMRT course cannot treat a cross-NCR taxi as a sightseeing hop; name the treating bunker before booking a flat. Winter air quality can worsen fatigue and throat or lung symptoms during thoracic or head-and-neck courses. Plan indoor rest between fractions rather than assuming a garden walk is recovery.

Indira Gandhi International Airport: Delhi, Gurugram, Noida and Faridabad are separate ENT corridors. Confirm the exact theatre, audiology or implant campus before booking because a cross-NCR transfer soon after nasal packing, ear-canal precautions or a new implant is difficult. Winter air pollution and dry summer air can irritate a healing nose, throat or airway. Follow the team's saline, voice and outdoor-air advice rather than generic city walking plans.

Treatment guides

Canonical GAF treatment content

  • Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS) treatment guide

Stereotactic radiosurgery delivers a high, tightly focused radiation dose to a small intracranial or selected skull-base target in one or a few sessions, using rigid immobilisation and precise imaging. After specialised planning and a mask or frame, the dose is delivered in a longer single sitting or a short series. Most patients go home the same day.

  • Skull Base Surgery treatment guide

Skull base surgery approaches selected lesions at the interface of the nose, ear or neck with the cranial base, often using endoscopic endonasal or lateral routes with a combined ENT–neurosurgery team. Depending on the lesion, the team works through the nose with endoscopes or through a lateral otologic or open approach, removes the planned tumour or disease, and reconstructs the skull-base defect.

  • Spinal Tumor Surgery treatment guide

Spinal tumor surgery decompresses or removes a tumour affecting the vertebra, canal or cord — metastatic or selected primary — when oncology and stability already sit on the same plan. The corridor follows the tumour. Decompression, biopsy, cement, screws or a cage reconstruction are combined only as the board planned.

  • Brain Tumor Surgery treatment guide

Brain tumor surgery in India may involve open craniotomy, minimally invasive or endoscopic approaches depending on tumour location, size, pathology and surgical goals. Treatment planning typically includes imaging, neurosurgical evaluation, anaesthesia, surgery, hospital care and postoperative monitoring. After anaesthesia and positioning, a planned craniotomy or keyhole corridor exposes the lesion. The tumour is removed or debulked under magnification, often with neuronavigation. Tissue goes to pathology; the bone flap is replaced and the patient recovers in a neuro-ICU or high-dependency bay.

  • Glioma Surgery treatment guide

Glioma surgery removes or debulks a glial tumour inside the brain, often using mapping, fluorescence or navigation so as much tumour as is safe can be taken while eloquent function is protected. A craniotomy is planned over the tumour. Mapping, navigation or fluorescence may guide resection. Tissue is sent for histology and, when written, molecular tests. Closure and neuro-ICU observation follow.

  • Meningioma Surgery treatment guide

Meningioma surgery removes a tumour arising from the meninges, ranging from a convexity mass to a skull-base lesion wrapped around nerves and vessels. A craniotomy or skull-base approach exposes the dural origin. The tumour is dissected from brain, sinus or cranial nerves as far as is safe. Dura is repaired and the bone flap replaced.

  • Pituitary Tumor Surgery treatment guide

Pituitary tumor surgery removes or debulks an adenoma or related sellar mass, most often through a transsphenoidal corridor, to relieve optic-nerve pressure or control hormone excess or deficiency. Usually under general anaesthesia, a transnasal transsphenoidal route reaches the sella. The adenoma is removed under the endoscope or microscope. The sellar floor is reconstructed to limit CSF leak.

  • Endoscopic Brain Surgery treatment guide

Endoscopic brain surgery reaches an intracranial target through a small corridor with a camera, often via a ventricle or keyhole, when anatomy already makes that route honest. A burr hole or small craniotomy admits the endoscope. The target is inspected, biopsied or removed under irrigation. Haemostasis and closure follow; conversion is discussed in consent.

  • Endoscopic Skull Base Surgery treatment guide

Endoscopic skull base surgery reaches the sella, anterior cranial base or related corridors through the nose, reconstructing the defect so brain and CSF stay sealed. An endonasal corridor is opened, the lesion addressed, and the skull-base defect reconstructed with grafts or a flap. A lumbar drain is used only if planned.

  • Aneurysm Clipping treatment guide

Aneurysm clipping places a microsurgical clip across the neck of an intracranial aneurysm so blood no longer fills the sac, after angiography has already written an open rather than endovascular plan. A craniotomy exposes the parent vessel. Temporary clips may be used while the definitive clip is placed across the neck. Intraoperative angiography or Doppler may confirm exclusion. Neuro-ICU vasospasm watch follows if the aneurysm had ruptured.

  • AVM Surgery treatment guide

AVM surgery microsurgically disconnects and removes an arteriovenous malformation so arterial blood no longer shunts directly into veins. A craniotomy exposes the nidus. Feeders are disconnected, the nidus is removed and draining veins are taken last. Intraoperative angiography may confirm clearance.

  • Deep Brain Stimulation treatment guide

Deep brain stimulation implants electrodes in a selected brain target and connects them to a pulse generator so Parkinson disease, tremor or dystonia can be modulated after a named functional-neurosurgery review. Electrodes are placed with stereotactic guidance, sometimes with microelectrode recording or asleep imaging confirmation. Leads are tunnelled to a chest or abdominal pulse generator. Programming starts after swelling settles.

  • Epilepsy Surgery treatment guide

Epilepsy surgery removes, disconnects or modulates the brain region generating seizures when video-EEG and MRI already write an operation rather than medicines alone. If resection is planned, a craniotomy exposes the zone — often temporal — and the tissue is removed under mapping. Alternative sittings include hemispheric disconnection or implantation of monitoring or stimulation hardware.

  • Stereotactic Brain Surgery treatment guide

Stereotactic brain surgery reaches a deep target along a planned trajectory for biopsy, lesioning, lead placement or other named work that is not radiosurgery. After registration, a small opening admits the probe, electrode or lesioning device along the planned path. Confirmation imaging may be obtained before closure.

  • Hydrocephalus Surgery treatment guide

Hydrocephalus surgery treats excess cerebrospinal fluid, most often by placing a ventriculoperitoneal shunt, when imaging already writes diversion rather than medicines alone. A ventricular catheter is placed, connected to a valve and tunnelled to the peritoneum or another terminus. Intraoperative confirmation and a post-operative scan may be obtained.
