Dr. Sonia Naik — Principal Director of Obstetrics & Gynaecology in Delhi NCR

Dr. Sonia Naik is Principal Director of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Max Smart Super Speciality Hospital, Saket, in the Delhi NCR, with more than 20 years of experience across obstetrics and gynaecology and infertility and IVF.

She manages uterine fibroids, ovarian cysts, abnormal uterine bleeding, chronic pelvic pain, post-menopausal bleeding and menopause. Her operating list covers hysterectomy and laparoscopic hysterectomy, laparoscopic myomectomy, ovarian cyst surgery, pelvic organ prolapse surgery, and uterine polyp removal by hysteroscopic polypectomy.

Her qualifications were taken across three states. She read MBBS at Bhopal University in Madhya Pradesh, took her MD in obstetrics and gynaecology at Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru Medical College in Raipur, and her PGT in the same subject at RML Hospital in Delhi.

Two periods of further training sit behind the two halves of her practice. Her laparoscopy and hysteroscopy training was taken at Bradford Royal Infirmary in the United Kingdom, and her infertility training at Reliance Life Sciences in Mumbai.

Foetal medicine is where her recorded society work sits. She has served as Organizing Secretary for a Foetal Medicine Society CME and as Editor of the Bulletin of the Foetal Medicine Society, an editorial role that places her academic contribution in that field rather than in the surgical one.
