Dr. Sonamm Tiwari — Senior Consultant in Mumbai

Dr. Sonamm Tiwari is a Senior Consultant in obstetrics and gynaecology at Gleneagles Hospital, Parel, Mumbai, with more than 10 years of experience.

Her clinical work covers endometriosis, uterine fibroids, ovarian cysts, abnormal uterine bleeding and chronic pelvic pain. She performs endometriosis surgery, ovarian cyst surgery and laparoscopic myomectomy.

She qualified M.B.B.S. and took her M.S. in Obstetrics and Gynecology. Her further qualifications divide between reproduction and technique: the FRM, a fellowship in reproductive medicine, and a Masters in Cosmetic Gynaecology on one side; the F.M.A.S. and D.M.A.S., a fellowship and a diploma in minimal access surgery, on the other. She also holds the F.I.C.R.S.

Her memberships follow the same split. She belongs to FOGSI and to the Indian Society of Assisted Reproduction, to the PCOS Society, to the World Association of Laparoscopic Surgeons and to the Indian College of Cosmetic Gynaecology.

She has published three papers as a named author. She was first author of an observational study on morbidly adherent placenta, covering its incidence, risk factors and management, in the International Journal of Scientific Research in June 2020. She was first author of a case report on pregnancy-associated hemolytic uremic syndrome in the Global Journal For Research Analysis in September 2018, and second author of a case report in the same journal in November 2019 on primary amenorrhea with a transverse vaginal septum. Her research presentations have won awards at conferences.
