Dr. Deepa Maheshwari — Unit Head in Delhi NCR

Dr. Deepa Maheshwari is Unit Head of the Department of Maternity, Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Artemis Hospital in the Delhi NCR, with more than 20 years of experience across obstetrics and gynaecology and infertility and IVF.

Her theatre work is almost entirely minimal access. She performs laparoscopic hysterectomy as advanced minimally invasive management of uterine conditions, laparoscopic myomectomy for fibroids, hysteroscopic myomectomy for submucosal fibroids, hysteroscopic polypectomy for uterine polyps, laparoscopic endometriosis surgery and ovarian cyst surgery. Therapeutic dilation and curettage covers her diagnostic work. Medically she manages uterine fibroids, ovarian cysts and abnormal uterine bleeding, and on the obstetric side her profile records pregnancy care with both normal and cesarean delivery services.

She holds an MBBS and took her MS in obstetrics and gynaecology at Srirama Chandra Hospital and GME in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. She is a Fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences, the FAMS.

Her hospital history runs from London to Gurugram. She has worked at Morsley Hospital in London and at Max Hospital in Gurugram, and her current post is as Unit Head at Artemis Hospital in Gurugram, Haryana.

Her recognition spans her student years and her present role. She won gold and silver medals in MBBS, and a best paper award at an international oncology conference. She now acts as guide and co-guide to DNB students in the Department of OB-GYN at Artemis Hospital, and has presented posters and papers at gynecological conferences.
