Dr. Anitha Kunnaiah — Senior Consultant in Hyderabad

Dr. Anitha Kunnaiah is a Senior Consultant at Yashoda Hospitals, Hi-Tech City, Hyderabad, with more than 20 years of experience in obstetrics and gynaecology and in infertility and IVF.

Endometriosis is the condition her record returns to most often, in both treatment and surgery. She also manages uterine fibroids, ovarian cysts, abnormal uterine bleeding and chronic pelvic pain, and operates for pelvic organ prolapse. Her surgical list includes hysterectomy and laparoscopic hysterectomy, myomectomy and laparoscopic myomectomy, and ovarian cyst surgery.

She qualified MBBS at JSS Medical College, Mysore, in 2003 and took her DGO there in 2007, followed by a DNB at Sagar Hospital, Bangalore, in 2010. She holds the DRM, a fellowship in reproductive medicine awarded in Germany, and completed a further fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility in 2021. In the same year she trained on the da Vinci Surgical System in robotics at Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, Kochi. Earlier posts were at Citizens Hospital and Continental Hospitals in Hyderabad and at SSMS Medical College, Davangere.

Her academic work has followed those same two themes of robotics and endometriosis. She won best paper at IAGE Kochi in 2023 for robotic surgery in endometriosis, and a top five video presentation award at IAGE Endogyne in Kolkata in 2022 for laparoscopic surgery in a frozen pelvis. She presented on robotic surgery in gynaecological conditions at AICOG Hyderabad in 2024, is organising chairperson of GYN ROBOCON 2025 and founder of the ENDO CONNECT 2026 endometriosis conference, and received a SumanTV Doctor Award in 2025.
