Dr. A Jaishree Gajaraj — Head of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Chennai

Dr. A Jaishree Gajaraj is Head of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at MGM Healthcare in Chennai. With more than 42 years in practice, she is among the most experienced gynaecologists in the city.

Her clinical range is general gynaecology across the benign spectrum. She manages uterine fibroids, ovarian cysts, abnormal uterine bleeding, endometriosis, chronic pelvic pain and menopause. Operatively she performs hysterectomy and laparoscopic hysterectomy, myomectomy and laparoscopic myomectomy, ovarian cyst surgery, endometriosis surgery, pelvic organ prolapse surgery, pelvic floor repair, and uterine polyp removal by hysteroscopic polypectomy.

Her qualifications were all taken at the University of Madras in Chennai, Tamil Nadu: the MBBS in 1980, the DGO in 1984, and the MD in obstetrics and gynaecology in 1988. Her UK qualifications followed in the next decade. She became a Member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in 1992 and a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 1993, and she was later elected a Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.

That connection carries into her society work, where she belongs to the Association of TamilNadu Members of RCOG. Her other memberships are the Indian Menopause Society, which matches the menopause management entry on her clinical list, and the Obstetric and Gynaecological Society of Southern India. Her practice is based at MGM Healthcare.
