What is Limb Reconstruction Surgery?
Limb reconstruction surgery rebuilds a child's limb when congenital deficiency, infection, tumour reconstruction or failed trauma already needs more than a single osteotomy or a simple lengthening. The surgeon treats the cause — infection, deficiency or instability — then reconstructs length, alignment and joint stability in one or more sittings. The first admission is not always the last.
