What is Living Donor Liver Transplantation?
Living donor liver transplantation uses a portion of a healthy donor's liver to replace the recipient's failing liver, with both operations performed on the same campus. The donor hepatectomy removes a planned right or left graft. The recipient hepatectomy follows, then the graft is implanted with inflow, outflow and biliary reconstruction. Both patients recover in monitored settings.
