What is BAHA Implantation (Bone Anchored Hearing Aid)?
A bone-anchored hearing aid uses an implant in the skull bone to transmit vibration to the inner ear, for selected conductive or mixed losses or single-sided deafness when a conventional aid is unsuitable. A titanium fixture is placed in the temporal bone. A percutaneous abutment or a transcutaneous magnet system is used according to the chosen platform, then the processor is fitted after osseointegration.
